Google I/O 2019, CEO Sundar Pichai is going to unveil the new Google offerings at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA this May 7-9. Undoubtedly we have a lot of gossips propagated widely from New Android OS to Google Assistant and Home.
Here’s what we have to expect from this big release??
The Q Desert
Quindim? Quindim is a
popular Brazilian baked dessert, made chiefly from sugar, egg
yolks, and ground coconut. It is a custard and usually
presented as an upturned cup with a glistening surface and intensely yellow
color according to Wikipedia.
Presumably, we aren’t getting any name in I/O this time. Apparently, the New OS is going be the Spotlight at I/O as the release will be soon. (Probably
by the end of the summer). And we have seen some key updates in some betas.
While Rumors are circulating around about the pressure
sensitive touch features and the board dark mode with key features like
permissions and multi-tasking through bubbles.
The Foldables
So far, the keys are improvements to privacy/permissions and
multi-tasking through Bubbles. Expect a lot more here. Rumors include pressure-sensitive
touch features and across the board dark mode.
Undeniably Samsung’s galaxy fold units malfunctioning could
be predominantly a positive outreach to Google fold units. Google applied for 4
new patents including a Z shaped foldable pattern patent with which there is a
hope of constant focus on the smartphone industry.
However, Google’s recently released Android Q Beta software update does come with support for foldable phones. This is already a sign
that Google is interested in foldable devices and wants to ensure that users
would get a tremendous Android experience on devices that can quickly switch
between laptop and tablet mode.
The affordable Pixel
Google probably announces the company’s rumored new Pixel 3a & Pixel 3a XL smartphones, expected to be a mid-range offering in the Pixel series where the company presuming a tough fight with the other mid-range smartphones.
According to the rumors, product cost’s around $500 with the return of headphone jack and other things. Expecting the 4 remaining Pixel
products by the end of October.
Google also announced that the Pixel series isn’t all about
the showcase of the latest version of Android(Q), it also includes a new Taipei
campus with a huge investment in HTC’s hardware team which is certainly showing
us the focus on the series.
The live streaming style(like Twitch), gaming platform intended to change the gaming sector by getting rid of consoles and applications and to be supported on desktops, laptops TV, tablets, and phones. As Google ventured for the first time on the gaming industry it wanted to start massive.
Google is aiming to stream games at 4k at 60fps which a goal of 8K and 120+ fps in the near future. Stadia allow players to experience the game from one platform to another- like from a phone to tablet to chromecast on TV.
Good news is that Stadia is going support with the less technical requirement- which means a less powerful PC with high accuracy.
Google held back a lot more details, only to wait till Apple reveals its gaming strategy probably by June this year.
The Google Home
Apart from the smartphones sector struggles, Google is
paying attention to the Home front. Alexa has the upper hand in this sector. Growing
its smartphone business has been a struggle, but Google’s been firing on all
cylinders on the home front. Assistant is a stronger offering than Alexa, and
hardware like the Home Mini and Hub have been selling briskly. We’ll
undoubtedly see a lot more tricks out of Assistant this time around, including
a bit of focus on AI and Machine Learning smarts.
In addition to a new Pixel, we may also be getting a smart
home piece of hardware from Google in the form of the Nest Hub Max. As the name
implies, the device is a bigger take on the smart screen — 10 inches, according
to rumors — with a focus on serving as a centralized smart home panel. The
device will no doubt be primed to work well with other Google Home and Nest offerings,
at a higher price point than Hub.
The Wear
The less focussed Wear OS, which just got a nice update last week, could get some upgradation as well. Expecting the latest Wear OS with the tiles.
Whatever comes, we’ll be updating you the surprises
unveiling at Mountain View Tomorrow, Teksaviors gonna bring you the key updates.
